title: Projects and Spaces
description: Add your folders, group them, and switch between sets of work.
---

A **project** is a folder on your computer, usually a git repository. Every session belongs to a project and starts in its folder.

## Add a project

Open **More Options** (the menu button in the sidebar's top row) and choose **Add Project**. Then either:

- pick a folder, or paste its path, or
- paste a git URL or a `git clone` command to clone the repository and add it in one go.

You can also right-click an empty spot in the sidebar.

## Organize projects

- **Groups**: right-click a project and choose **Add to Group** to keep related projects together.
- **Spaces**: the row of icons above your projects. A Space holds a set of projects, like "Work" or "Side projects". Switching Spaces shows only its projects and brings back the session you last used there. Click **Create space** to make your first one.
- **Close Project** moves a project out of the way into **Recent Projects**, so you can bring it back later.

## The project header

Each project shows its git branch and how many lines changed. Its buttons let you start an agent, add a [worktree](/workflows/git), and see sessions you closed earlier.

## Project Actions

Actions are saved commands, like `npm run dev` or a website link, that you run with one click. Add them in **Settings > Actions**. They appear under the **Start** button in the header, which also remembers the last one you used.

Try "How do Spaces work?" or "How do I clone a repo into Ghostex?"
